The Kinesthetic
Cue Dance Club is all about dancing and having FUN. We
opened in Madison, Alabama, on January 15, 1999, and for the
last eleven years we’ve been
teaching people in the Huntsville and Madison, Alabama, area to
dance. We teach dance lessons in ballroom
dancing, Latin dances, and swing dance.
As a club we have FUN attending numerous
and various social events together. Some of the dances that we
go to as a group include the MARS (Marshall Athletic Recreation Social) Valentine, Luau,
Christmas and New Year's Eve dinner-dances at the Von Braun Civic Center. We go together to the Alzheimer Association's formal benefit dinner-dance featuring the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and to the formal Cotton Ball benefit dinner-dance in the fall, both at the Civic Center.
Twice a year we put
on a dance Showcase, providing our members with a forum to exhibit their
dance skills to family and friends. Most members find this to be a
valuable learning experience and an opportunity to take their skills to
new heights. Our staff performs exhibition
dances, as well, making these evenings both inspiring and entertaining
to see local talent perform live. The summer show this year was a
benefit for Crisis Services of North Alabama. In previous
years we have had benefits for the March of Dimes.
Our members have the
opportunity to attend and perform in dance competitions. In recent
years we have participated in competitions in Knoxville, Tuscaloosa,
Atlanta, Nashville, and Charlotte.
Closer to home, we
go out as a group to local clubs to dance to live music when available.
Members find it fun to get to use what they've learned in a "real world"
setting. Twice a year, in the spring and again in the fall, our club members enjoy relaxing by the
Tennessee River at picnics we hold. At our club we have a Valentine dance, Halloween party, a dance on
Thanksgiving night, and a Christmas party. On the last Saturday of
every month KCDC turns into a Latin night club. Huntsville's
longest, continuously running salsa dance is right here, in our 5th
successful year.
Friday night is party night at Kinesthetic
Cue! Every Friday night we host a ballroom and Latin dance
party, providing our members a fun environment in which to practice as
they learn. We provide snacks and beverages at our smoke-free,
alcohol-free weekly dance parties so you can learn in a safe
environment. No partner is necessary. Your instructor will be
your dance partner during the lessons, and at the Friday night parties
you will dance with all the instructors and with other club members.
During the week we
offer private lessons and group classes in ballroom and social dancing.
Some of the dances you will learn right away are the swing and hustle,
rhythm dances such as cha cha and rumba, and the smooth dances of
foxtrot, waltz, and tango. Our combination of private lessons,
group classes, and weekly social dances are the combination that get
you dancing quicker than any other method.
Dancing is GREAT quality time and a fun way
to exercise for couples and singles. And as you can tell by
now if you have read this far, we are not just another place that
gives dance instruction; we are a social club focused around
dancing. We assure you that while our competition has
shamelessly and blatantly copied our web site, and we are flattered
that they watch us and try to imitate us, they cannot match us for
an overall quality experience. You will make friends here so
