RUEDA WORKSHOP - Calvin Elkins
RUEDA (rueda de casino, Miami style, lots of other names)
is a very fun and exciting version of salsa dancing! You have all of the dancers in a
circle and a caller to give the commands! Rueda hasn't been seen much in Huntsville (a
group from Knoxville was gracious enough to perform here a few months ago) so we want to
change that!
The workshop will teach the
basics of rueda, quite a few moves and then, we'll DANCE! You don't want to miss this opportunity to
build on your salsa knowledge!

BEGINNER I SALSA CLASS
for the absolute beginner
This
is a 4-week, 1-hour-a week progressive class.
You will learn the foundation needed to be able
to dance salsa well. Leading and following
techniques are taught in this class. Fun
is a big part of the class experience.
Registration: 15 minutes prior to class at KCDC
Class: Tuesdays

Cost:
$40 per person
for the month - $60 per couple
($20 per person for repeat students)
Wear comfortable clothing, slick-bottom shoes
that slide, not grab.

BEGINNER II SALSA
CLASS
This
BEGINNER II SALSA CLASS is the next step in your SALSA addiction.
It is a continuation of Beginner I. You
will apply the techniques learned in Beginner I
to the moves and combinations taught in this
class.
This class will take you into
the arena of learning more combinations in conjunction with
learning more leading and following techniques.
Like
Beginner I, this class is a 4-week, 1-hour-a-week
progressive class. This is definitely a
fun-filled class with lots of moves, styling, techniques and
laughter.
Registration: 15 minutes before class at KCDC
Class: Tuesdays

INTERMEDIATE I and II SALSA CLASS
for the experienced salsa dancer
This
is a 4-week, 1-hour-a week progressive class for
the experienced salsa dancer. It is the
follow-on class after Beginner Salsa II.
You will learn more advanced salsa moves and
combinations. Techniques and styling are
taken to the next level. The
combinations you will learn are the most common
moves in the salsa world. As with all the
salsa classes, fun
is a big part of the class experience.

MAKE YOUR DANCING MORE INTERESTING
ADD MORE SALSA MOVES!
What you will learn:
You will learn a series of moves put together to form combinations.
Included are the techniques associated with the moves plus styling, foot
work and much more. The level of instruction is
beginner/intermediate, although it is not absolute beginner or strictly
intermediate. The combinations will include both beginner and
intermediate-level moves.
Different
combinations will be taught in each session. The combinations will be easy
for you to follow but challenging enough for all
levels.
If you want to
improve your salsa dancing then do not miss the SALSA WORKSHOPS! They
are all different each month and you will learn new, cool
moves each time. It will be FUN. It will be FANTASTIC!
